New guitar? No, this one's old.
I wanted the T. V. yellow one. Damn you Chris Nelson! Damn you to hell!

1988 Gibson SG Standard

The SG on the left is the one I
traded for a '79 Strat.

For some reason whomever
owned this guitar stripped all
the paint off the back of the
neck.

There are some odd holes
drilled into the front & rear of
the headstock, so who knows
what they were thinking?

All that aside, this SG is my
current favorite. It's even
wired backwards!

They always say that mutts
make the best pets.This one
ROCKS!
You gotta love mid-seventies Norlin products!

1981 Gibson Ripper

I've always loved Gibson basses, but could rarely
convince any bass players to use them. To hell
with them! I got my own and it has the
unmistakable, deep Gibson growl!
Your what is broken? Water!!! iiiiiiieeeeeeeeeee
Guitars I Foolishly Sold Before They Skyrocketed In Price
!!!! The tuners would be worth $300.00. !!
What we won't do for money!
Sorry Danny, I should have never sold it.

99 SG Junior

I found this at Willie's Vintage guitars
(more later) and bought it and a
Stratocaster right on the spot! It's a
1999 reissue of a 1968 SG junior.
Gibson quickly discontinued these so
they could put them under their "historic"
division and charge HUGE amounts of
money!

This junior is heaven! It has a giant
baseball neck and period correct
hardware. O.K., so maybe it doesn't
have the witch hat knobs and three on a
side tuners. It does have the correct
wrap around bridge and a smoking
P-90! All that and much better bevels
than you could find on a real '68.

This is another guitar I would seriously
recommend snapping up if you find one.
Why pay $2000.00 for a 1968 when
you can get one of these for $500.00
-$800.00.
1959 Les Paul Custom.
The '59 custom I had sported a split or
a crack under the bridge. Anyway as I
said I paid $300.00 for this guitar from
a pawn shop & was convinced by
Terry that it may not be real. This was
early 80's & before the rage of
'weathering' guitars. Hell the PAF
pickups would be worth $1000.00 or
more. Oh well.

The
1959 ES 330 on the right is like
the 59 I  purchased from Dominic
Marazzo for $200.00 around 1982.
This guitar was is such good condition
that outside of the nickle hardware
starting to dull, you would have thought
this was a new guitar. There was not a
playing scratch on it. I never played
this guitar at a club because it had no
strap button by the neck. I refused to
put one on so the guitar sat in the
closet until 1995 when I sold it for a
tidy profit. I do miss it but still would
not play it. See ya buddy!
Mississippi Queen!
(left to right) 90 Standard, 93 Special, 02 Junior, 58 Special, 06 Standard
This '90 'burst came along & was very reasonable. It was so reasonable that I couldn't pass it up. I wish i would have saved the protector case. I then added
the '93 Special (I wanted the T.V. yellow one but the White Knight got that one). Gibson just started reissuing them and even though it had p-100's it was a
nice instrument. Next is my 02 Junior. This guitar really rocks! If you can, look for one. Gibson discontinued this model and reintroduced it as a heritage. For
$1500.00 more! One of my favorite playing Gibsons! Next to last is a 58 Special RI that is way cool. Always wanted one. Now I have it!
Lastly is an 06 Standard in Wine Red. It has a great AA top. I've wired it '50's style and used real '50's paper caps I rescued from a radio I restored.
Welcome to my Guitar pages! I hope you find something interesting to look at.
I have, thankfully, managed to hang on to most of my stringed instruments over the years. Some have unfortunately been sold (foolishly) and
others have been swiped!
Drop me a line if you have any questions for as you know, everything is for sale!
I bought a 1963 SG
Junior
in Polara
white in 1976 from
my cousin Dan for
$75.00.

It included the
original soft shell
alligator case. What
a great guitar!

Unfortunately I
traded this guitar &
$75.00 in for a late
'70's Fender Bronco.
What a schmuck!

Hey Tim Black, you
should have stopped
me!
I recently got the Flametop Les Paul on the left from Chris Nelson.
He had forgotten he had it in his closet.
Now it's mine!

The
Les Paul Special on the right is from 1997 and has a nice T.V. yellow that
allows the grain of the mahogany to peek through.
1981
Les Paul Custom
(left)

When these first came out I
never cared for them.
Especially the fact that
Gibson applied the sunburst
to the neck and back of the
headstock.

How time heals all!

Although this fine Paul is
heavier (10 lbs on the
bathroom scale), it has the
best tone of all my Pauls.
Maybe it's the Tim Shaw
humbuckers, who knows?

I got it for a extremely great
price. It's all stock, not a lick
of solder has been touched
and it has the great protector
II case.

For some strange reason this
is another in a long line of
guitars I have owned that
have microphonic pickups.
hmmm..
1966 SG Custom
(left)
Traded an old Strat to Cliff for this guitar. I love the old
crappy white finish. I do think that SG's look best in white
or Pelham blue.

Very small pencil neck on this monkey. I am surprised that
the neck or headstock has never been broken. It's just that
small.

Still overall, a great old vintage Gibson. It's too bad that
prices on anything prior to 1982 stops the average musician
from owning any equipment. The prices on all and I mean
ALL instruments prior to that date is astronomical!

Keep what you got. There are no deals anymore!

1965 Junior

Finally!!!!

After years of telling my story of the one that got away, I
found another!

Actually Cliff bought it and I rescued it from him before he
sold it to someone else.

I never noticed that white Juniors have bound necks. I don't
remember my last one having one.

Smoking axe!
The guitar below is a
1978 Gibson ES 335
I bought this guitar brand spankin' new. I
had to get a job to pay for it and worked
at Sear's coffee shop for $1.95 an hour.
That was a lot of tables to clean off but I
had a snazzy guitar. They tried to talk me
into a ES 175 but I wanted to rock. At the
time nobody my age understood what this
guitar was when I told them I played a
335.. I would tell them "it's like Ted
Nugent's" & they would say oh, OK.

Very nice guitar, plus I've had it for ions!

I'm a sucker for archtops and this is a very nice example of Gibson's entry level archtop.
All original!
Brazilian rosewood,
P-90's and sunburst. Oh, My!

I love Gibson cherry finishes.
Even though he never played one, I always feel like Chuck Berry when this one comes out.

I already said this guitar was
bought on the night my son
was born.

I added pup covers & rotated
the controls so they made
more sense to me.

What a great light guitar to
play.

1975 Explorer
(right)
Sad to say that the only
original stuff on this Explorer
are the tuners.

Bought from GC where some
jack hole took all the original
parts off it and put
replacements on. When it
came time to sell, the original
parts were mysteriously ..gone!

Odd brown position markers
on the side of the neck.
1967 es 335
Just bought this guitar before they
went up in price too much. It's
unbeliveably clean. Pat # pups,
Indian rosewood board, Kluson
double ring tuners and fabulous color.
Oh yeah , the case is bitching' too!
